There are times when students need headphones to have passages or problems read to them. Before, I only had one headset to give out. Now with your gift, I can provide them to any student that asks. I do have a large number of Special Education students and they are the ones that usually need them. And lastly, the snacks have been great! The look of excitement the first time I was able to give them snacks was priceless. I had always felt bad when students asked if I had any snacks. I always had to tell them no. As teachers, we just don't have extra money at the end of the month to buy snacks for our classrooms. It has given me great joy to be able to provide them with a snack when I get the request. Without your generous donation, my students would lack the supplies needed to help them with their education. Many of my students forget pencils, have allergies, or prefer to use a dry erase markers (since its easier to erase and fix errors) in my class. \r\n\r\nThe purchase of pencils, especially mechanical, allows me to make sure that all students have a pencil to use in my class. Since I teach Algebra 1, a pencil is extremely important as it allows students to make mistakes and correct errors. \r\n\r\nThe tissue donation is like donating gold. We go through so much tissue at school. By providing this for my class, you are allowing students to stay in my room and engage in the learning rather not go to the bathroom to blow their nose when we run out of tissue. This saves time and allows them a safe environment to take care of such a basic need. \r\n\r\nThe dry erase markers are a game changer. We use to have the skinny markers but they ran out of ink so fast they were not practical. By providing the bigger markers, my students have had an increase in participation and are not afraid to make mistakes in their work. Studies have shown that a non-permeant surface tends to promote learning significantly more than just pencil and paper. \r\n\r\nOverall, without your donation my students would definitely not have the progress they do now.
