Everyday \"learning comes alive\" as students can easily see me model activities. Students can actively participate in the lesson and show others how to correctly model activities.\r\n\r\nOne part of our daily lesson deals with spelling. We segment out each sound or phoneme and match it to the grapheme or letter. We use a series of boxes and circle chips to actively use multiple senses. Once I had the new document camera and could model this for students, it was like a light just went off. All students understood completely. \r\n\r\nAlso, students can model for their peers when we link words or code. While some things can be done on a smartboard, the document camera allows students to show how we use manipulatives.
