The sensory items, fidgets, and behavior support tools have quickly become essential parts of our daily routine. We created a \"Calm Corner\" where students can choose from the sensory items when they need a break to self-regulate, and we've also introduced weekly \"Positive Behavior Picks,\" allowing students who meet behavior goals to select a treasure chest reward. One memorable moment came when a student who normally struggles with transitions used a fidget from the new collection to stay focused and calm during circle time — a big victory for him and a proud moment for all of us!\r\n\r\nThe students were overjoyed when they first saw the materials. Their eyes lit up as we opened the boxes, and they immediately began exploring everything with excitement. Some students were drawn to the pop fidgets, while others gravitated toward the squishy stress balls or the visual timers. One student even exclaimed, \"This feels like a dream store just for us!\" It was heartwarming to witness their joy, curiosity, and appreciation for tools that are not only fun, but also help them feel safe and understood in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWith the support of these new materials, we're diving deeper into our social-emotional learning (SEL) goals. Students are practicing how to identify emotions, build empathy, and use calming tools appropriately during times of stress. As part of our next step, we're beginning a \"Feelings Journal\" project where students will reflect daily on their emotions and the strategies they use to manage them — many of which include the items you helped provide. Your gift has not only transformed our classroom environment, but has also empowered my students to take ownership of their behavior and emotional growth.
