Instead of individual kits, donated hygiene products have been made readily available at school, ensuring students can access what they need when they need it. This consistent availability has helped reduce embarrassment or stigma, making it easier for students to take care of their hygiene without having to ask or go without. Students have been using deodorant before PE, brushing their teeth after breakfast at school, using combs and hair ties to neaten up before class, and even grabbing lotion or chapstick during colder days to stay comfortable. These small but important moments help students feel more at ease, more confident, and more focused throughout their school day.\r\nTeachers and staff have already noticed a boost in students' confidence, focus, and classroom participation. For many students, having access to these essentials means they can show up to school feeling clean, comfortable, and ready to learn.\r\nMore than just physical well-being, these donations have helped foster a greater sense of dignity and self-respect among our students. Simple items have translated into big changes—more smiles, stronger self-esteem, and a noticeable sense of pride in their appearance. Access to these hygiene products has also opened up important conversations about self-care and personal health in a safe, supportive environment.\r\nThanks to Clean Start, our students are not only better equipped for their day-to-day school life—they're walking a little taller and dreaming a little bigger. Your kindness is empowering them in ways that go far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1738183596494,"projectUrl":"project/clean-start-empowering-students-with-hy/9083751/","projectTitle":"Clean Start: Empowering Students with Hygiene Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rogala","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9909989"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_83362","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":391,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":83362,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Amanda Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Amanda Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/middletown-city-school-district/amanda-elementary-school/83362"}
