Your contribution has made a meaningful difference in their lives, and I want to share just how impactful your kindness has been.\r\n\r\nSuccess Academy serves students who are often overlooked, misunderstood, or struggling to find their place in traditional educational settings. Many of our students come to us carrying emotional burdens, trauma, and a sense of hopelessness. My role is not only to support their academic journey but also to help them develop emotional resilience, self-regulation skills, and a renewed sense of self-worth. Thanks to your donation, I now have additional tools to do just that.\r\n\r\nThe fidget toys you helped provide have quickly become a staple in our counseling sessions and classrooms. For students dealing with anxiety, ADHD, or emotional dysregulation, these simple tools offer a calming outlet that helps them stay focused and grounded. I've watched students who previously struggled to remain in class now use these items to self-soothe and stay engaged in learning. It's a small shift with a profound ripple effect.\r\nThe calming coloring books have also been a tremendous asset. They offer students a quiet, creative space to decompress, reflect, and express themselves in a nonverbal way. I've seen students who were initially resistant to counseling begin to open up simply because they felt safe and relaxed while coloring. These moments of peace are rare for many of our students, and your support has helped create more of them.\r\n\r\nBeyond these specific items, your generosity has sent a powerful message: that our students matter. That someone outside their immediate world believes in their potential and is willing to invest in their growth. For many of our kids, this is the first time they've experienced that kind of affirmation. It's not just about the materials—it's about the hope and dignity those materials represent.\r\n\r\nAs a counselor, I often work behind the scenes, quietly advocating for students who need extra care and attention. Your donation has amplified my efforts and allowed me to create a more supportive, therapeutic environment for the young people who need it most. I've already seen improvements in behavior, engagement, and emotional regulation—and I know this is just the beginning.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to support a project that may not have seemed flashy or high-tech, but is deeply rooted in compassion and healing. Your impact will be felt for months and years to come, not just in the tools you provided, but in the lives you've touched.","fullyFundedDate":1741099896555,"projectUrl":"project/at-risk-students-need-your-help/9087129/","projectTitle":"At-Risk Students Need Your Help!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sparkman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9701831_orig.jpg?crop=402,402,x0,y5&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724430871689","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9701831"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40224","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":90,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":29,"percentWhite":20,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"5.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":42.9,"schoolId":40224,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Success Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Success Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/the-school-district-of-lee-county/alternative-learning-central/40224"}
