This is the second year the students have the opportunity to read these series. The Magic Tree House books are the most popular books at the beginning of the year. While reading these books, students are transported to various places. In the journeys, they learn many facts about the location. Having a broad selection thanks to your generosity makes it easier for everyone to read them. The Boxcar Series have also become a favorite. These books allow the students to solve mysteries. Doing so, allow critical thinking and personal connections which are standards in third grade. Ww alwsys take time to share something they learned about what's being read, and my students are always eager to share about these two series. We appreciate your kindness, thank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1727954732560,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-reading/8830431/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/221490"},{"teacherId":2489179,"projectId":9664025,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for our new soft skin soccer balls. They were so excited when we opened the box of all the soccer balls and began playing after our warmup. We have already begun our soccer skills unit and some grades have begun soccer games. Our gym space is small and crowded so having these new balls to keep the students safe while learning and developing skills for a game they are so passionate about is essential. I really believe many of my students at Leviton Dual language School will continue to play soccer and progress and your donation will be a major catalyst in their future. Once again I really appreciate the support, but it was also very obvious that the students also greatly appreciated the donation.","fullyFundedDate":1757272885509,"projectUrl":"project/soccer-players-score-for-success/9664025/","projectTitle":"Soccer Players Score for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rocha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2489179_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x328,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756760701423","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2489179"},{"teacherId":3166758,"projectId":9056870,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your contribution towards my \"Help Support Reading for Different Learning Styles\" project. When the materials were delivered, my students were so excited to have resources to help them in learning to read. The sight word cards have been very motivating and engaging. The visuals and short phrases on the cards have helped my students learn their sight words, especially my ESL learners.\r\n\r\nBesides the sight word cards, the hand2mind Toolkit has helped them become successful and confident readers. These hands-on materials incorporate visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile experiences. Therefore, these materials have allowed my students to engage in whole brain learning. As a result, my students love using these materials while they are developing phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, and fluency skills. Using these materials during my small group instruction has been rewarding because my students are now flourishing into fluent readers.","fullyFundedDate":1737659508279,"projectUrl":"project/help-support-reading-for-different-learn/9056870/","projectTitle":"Help Support Reading for Different Learning Styles","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibeau","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3166758"},{"teacherId":3166758,"projectId":9002587,"letterContent":"My students have really enjoyed all the Todd Parr books that our classroom received through this project. They enjoy the colorful illustrations, but also the important messages. My students are able to enjoy each story, but also discuss why this author might have decided to write this book. Having conversations about the author's purpose has taught my students that books can be written by all kinds of people and for different reasons.\r\n\r\nOur personal favorite is titled \"It's Okay to Make Mistakes.\" Todd Parr uses kid humor and scenarios to show them what they can do if they make a mistake. My students loved coming up with other solutions to the problems in the book. In addition, they love to reread all of these books and they have inspired my students to become authors.\r\n\r\nMoreover, these books have improved our morning meetings because they helped create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can see themselves reflected in the stories they read. Also, the Todd Parr books are valuable resources to use in lessons about empathy, respect, and social-emotional learning. The STEM materials have fostered positive relationships between my students.\r\n\r\nHaving access to these STEM materials has empowered my students to have positive attitudes towards problem-solving and creativity.
