By the end of the lab, students were able to use data to determine whether a type of soil was well-suited for growing different crops. They gained knowledge of how soil productivity is determined to help foster a deeper understanding of crop yields and the impacts of agriculture. The supplies requested were used to determine the nutrient levels of the soil on campus. These tests are very important because identifying nutrients in the soil helps inform future care methods. These nutrients are used by plants for the creation of amino acids, seed formation, metabolism, and so much more!
