Students have been more productive academically on days they get to use their watercolors.\r\n\r\nStudents have so enjoyed having composition books to jot their ideas, create writing webs and other brain-dumps. Having their own notebook has allowed them to revisit their ideas, revise, and add as their creativity continues. \r\n\r\nThe combination of watercolors and composition notebooks will come next: It will allow my students to reverse their writing style. They have painted landscape scenes, taken a gallery walk to look at their peers' scenes, and now are working on stories inspired by worlds within their paintings.
