Some of the colleagues and Intensive aids mentioned the previous Sped-Teacher had a challenging getting her students to work for her. She often worked alone and didn't connect well with the students on her caseload. I realized I needed to come in a build/develop relationships, create positive incentives, and create more supports. Since the village is known to be lacking a small store, I realized some of the students come to school late and often do not eat. When I created this project it was to fill a need for the school community, but more specifically students with special needs. With the generosity of this grant and fundraising, we were able to support our students and provide incentives for them. More students were eager to work on their IEP goals and work with the special education teacher and Intensive aids at the school. For science, we are on producers and I plan to have students research on producers, decomposures, food chain, etc. They will research related to topic being covered using the materials we (students and I) received through Donor's Choose.\r\nMy students were excited for all the materials received. They were proud to use new markers, colored pencils, notebooks, etc. \r\nAs ai have said before, students will research on regions of the US. They will write which state within that region, they would want to visit and why.
