At the end of the 2024-25 school year the middle schools in our town consolidated to one middle school for the 2025-26 school year. Teachers and students said goodbye to the Adele campus and packed everything, we are now at Altimira Middle School. The transition has gone very well and we are steadily unpacking and making Altimira our new homes. As the move happened right when items were being delivered for this project it took me some time before students got to see and use the amazing new tools this school year.\r\nWhen students got eyes on the gas weed trimmers, battery blowers and new rakes they lit up with excitement knowing they would be having hands on learning. It is something to see when a student struggles in areas of school like math and language arts but is then the leader when it comes to working in the garden. The confidence students gain from starting and completing a garden project is nothing short of amazing. This confidence helps students want to be more successful in other areas of school and their lives as well. \r\nThe garden and farm space that we have to care for at Altimira is significantly larger and more productive than the space we had at Adele Harrison. I am looking forward to teaching the unit on weed trimmer and power tool safety starting late winter so we are ready to have the space clean and tidy all Spring. Returning students to the Farm to Table class were asking the first week of school when they will get to use the string trimmers and got new students all excited for the activities. \r\nThank you so much for the generous donation of gas string trimmers and garden tools. They will provide hands-on learning and opportunities for career education at Altimira Middle School for many to come!","fullyFundedDate":1744780496121,"projectUrl":"project/sting-trimmers-and-more-to-help-keep-our/9235536/","projectTitle":"Sting Trimmers and More to Help Keep Our Garden Clean","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. M","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9671225"},{"teacherId":245115,"projectId":8964481,"letterContent":"Snip and Print has made a remarkable difference in my classroom. These resources help transform learning into an active, joyful process where every student can participate meaningfully.\r\n\r\nThanks to Snip and Print's support, my classroom feels more dynamic and inclusive.
