My first graders' eyes lit up as we unpacked the Spanish books, STEM toys, and organizers. They were eager to touch, explore, and start using everything right away. One of my students said, \"¡Podemos leer más libros en español ahora!\" (\"We can read more books in Spanish now!\") and the entire class cheered. It was such a joyful moment that reminded me how much they value learning in both languages.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new resources every day. The Spanish books have become part of our morning reading rotations, helping my students strengthen their vocabulary and confidence as bilingual readers. The STEM toys have been a huge hit during our \"Explora y Crea\" (\"Explore and Create\") Fridays, where students work together to build bridges, towers, and creative inventions that tie into our science lessons. The utility cart and mail organizer have made a big difference in keeping our classroom running smoothly. Students love having clear places for shared supplies and their own papers, and they are becoming more independent and responsible each week.\r\n\r\nNext, we're beginning a bilingual storytelling project where students will write and illustrate short books in both Spanish and English, inspired by the stories they've read from our new collection. I can't wait to see how their creativity and confidence continue to grow. Your generosity has truly transformed our classroom into a space full of joy, curiosity, and bilingual pride. My goal for curriculum is to integrate earth & environmental education into art exploration for elementary - middle school.\r\n\r\nStudents used the supplies to interact with our beautiful school garden/courtyard as 'botanical' documentation. I am so impressed with what they have done given quality supplies and guidance. Through opportunities to undertake observational drawing of nature, children's connection with and respect for their surroundings increased.\r\n\r\nI will continue to use the supplies until they expire. It is very important to provide opportunities for kids to interact with our rapidly changing environment. It is my hope that making art in this manner will help youth better cope therapeutically, spiritually, and practically through creative expression.
