So far it has allowed me as the teacher to move around the room while teaching so I can observe and assist students as needed without interrupting the lesson. These students then feel like our classroom is a safe place for them to learn and grow because attention is not being drawn to their struggles in that moment. The ability to have the slides in my hand as I teach has had a huge positive impact on my students' learning. I'm also able to sit at the carpet with small groups and teach while being able to observe and assist students as challenges arise. It allows me to be more present with my students.\r\nMy students are very excited about the fact that iPad time will be a reward that they can have the opportunity to play learning games on. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to reward and motivate students and the iPad is definitely exciting to them. Some love it, others seem to be allergic to books. For myself and my siblings, our dinners were always silent. All 4 of us would bring books to the dinner table and read while we ate. It got to the point that our mom jokingly banned books from dinner so we would share about our day! I want to create that same feeling in my students. Where they can't put their stories down even to eat because they HAVE TO find out what happens next. \r\n\r\nI believe all students are readers, they just need to find the right stories to ignite their passion. I have a ton of books that did that for me and I want to be able to share those stories with my students, but I also want to find the modern books that get their attention too. I have one student who hated picking up a book. I found a series randomly while searching online and ordered it. The kids were OBSESSED and this student in particular couldn't put them down! His mom reached out to me thanking me for finding something that her son was so into and asked for more recommendations. These devices have opened new doors for my students, allowing them to explore digital libraries, read independently at their level, and build confidence in their literacy skills. For many of them, reading on a Kindle feels special, like they're using the same tech they see adults with, which boosts their motivation and engagement.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most is the interactive nature of the Kindles. They love being able to tap on a word to hear it read aloud or get its meaning. This feature has been especially helpful for my struggling readers, who now feel more independent during reading time. One student, who was previously reluctant to read, now asks to use the Kindle every day and has started finishing books for the first time this year. The adjustable font size and backlighting also help students with visual needs feel more comfortable and focused.\r\n\r\nThese Kindles have truly brought joy and energy to our reading routine.
