Through this project, *Tech Meets Art: Empowering Creativity with 3D Printing and Sublimation*, my students will explore the intersection of technology and artistic expression. By integrating 3D printing and sublimation into our curriculum, scholars will gain hands-on experience with industry-relevant tools that foster both technical skills and creative thinking.\r\n\r\nThis initiative will empower students—many of whom have limited access to emerging technologies—to design, prototype, and produce personalized items such as keychains, phone stands, and custom apparel. These projects will not only reinforce coding and design principles but also build confidence, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial mindsets.\r\n\r\nYour support will help transform our classroom into a dynamic makerspace where students can see their ideas come to life. With these resources, we'll cultivate a generation of creators who are prepared to lead in both STEM and artistic fields.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\nWould you like to tailor this more toward a specific grade level, student population, or classroom goal? The technology you were able to provide gave the students a laptop that has audio book access as well as online reading access to books at their own reading levels. Each styudnts is able to log in to the reading platform and then they explore the \"library\" to choose the books they want to read. Because they get to choose their own reading books for their AIR, (Accountable Independent Reading), they aere more likely to read for longer periods of time, increasing their reading stamina. \r\nStudents of this generation are very comfortable accessing technology and utilizing media when they want to. One of the ongoing challenges for schoolteachers is to encourage students to access educational sites and use them throughout the day, and even after hours. Through your donations we are able to use the laptop to show students one on one how to access the online library through our district suported platform. They get comfortable using it it at school and many of them also go home and download the app on their phione to continue reading at home!!","fullyFundedDate":1746570879465,"projectUrl":"project/welcome-to-learning/9266914/","projectTitle":"Welcome to Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Iggy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1620083_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1556917898646","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/istemmerich"},{"teacherId":9401670,"projectId":9218496,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students have been able to dive into a wonderful collection of new books that spark both curiosity and critical thinking. These texts have helped us practice key reading skills such as identifying the main idea, making inferences, and exploring character motivation. We also use them to build vocabulary and connect themes to real-world experiences, which makes reading feel both meaningful and exciting.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is interactive and engaging. Students read independently, in small groups, and during whole-class discussions. They annotate, ask questions, and share their \"noticings and wonderings\" about the stories. The new books have given us fresh material to practice these skills while also inspiring lively conversations about characters' choices and lessons learned.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers are now asking to borrow these books to take home. One student in particular, who usually avoids reading aloud, volunteered to read a chapter because she couldn't wait to share her favorite part with the class. Moments like these remind me how powerful access to the right books can be. Thank you for helping bring these opportunities to my students—their joy and growth are truly a direct result of your support.","fullyFundedDate":1743387821038,"projectUrl":"project/booking-dreams/9218496/","projectTitle":"Booking Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Frazier-Hall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9401670_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757025508657","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9401670"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73136","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":402,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":96,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.8,"schoolId":73136,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about AL Holmes Academy of Blended Learning on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"AL Holmes Academy of Blended Learning","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/detroit-public-schools-community-district/a-l-holmes-academy/73136"}
