The science viewers are a big hit, with students being able to get 3D pictures of creatures in all different habitats. With the art supplies that you provided, we are not only able to give the children experiences using different medium, but also work together to accomplish it. With the paints and vinyl, we create sunshine shirts for our class that the children wear each and every Friday, as well as on our field trips! The tie dye is used to create class shirts during our clothing unit, and children wear them for special events to celebrate being in our TK class. Full STEAM Ahead changed my classroom immediately. Students entered excited and engaged each morning with access to these new materials. They felt the satisfaction of such stimulating activities, and if you were to pass by our room, you would see industrious adolescents completely absorbed in their individual creativity.\r\n\r\nWhen reviewing expectations a day before our first official day with the STEAM bins, a student remarked, \"I can't build though.\" By the end of the week, he showed me several different creations of his, my favorite being his giraffe. Not just the skill-building but the confidence-building is so important to our youth. With fewer opportunities to naturally create a physical product in today's digital world, facilitating opportunities in schools to create tangibles teaches children about pride and process.
