Riot Games and DonorsChoose are teaming up to help middle and high school teachers inspire the next generation of game designers and esports pros. We believe games can spark creativity, boost STEM learning, and bring students together like never before.
That’s why we’re focusing on schools where the need is greatest — Equity Focus Schools, including schools in rural communities — to make sure every student gets a chance to press “START” on their future.

Riot Games believes that giving students the opportunity to represent their school in competitive esports is an invaluable experience that they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.
Alliance Smidt Tech High School’s esports club was first started in 2021 by a group of students.
With the support of their Assistant Principal Mr. Colberg and funding from DonorsChoose, they’ve been dominating the high school VALORANT esports scene in Southern California.
After receiving Riot’s support, Mr. Nicolais, a Bronx high school teacher, shared how his Esports Gaming Club became a powerful space for student growth and connection.
