Help me give my students a new monitor for a chance to have a great Zoom lesson because I want to see the shared Zoom materials and their smiling faces.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have a wonderful inclusive classroom where half the children receive Special Education services and half do not. No one knows who is who. We only know that EVERYONE needs help and we are ALL there to help each other.
We all play together, learn together, and when someone is sad or cries, we are all there to say "it's OK," and help them.
I feel proud that our class is learning empathy, patience, and support for each other. If only our society could learn from them and be like this too.
My Project
Teaching via Zoom to 4-5 year olds can be challenging because it seems like a TV to them. Virtual learning often needs virtual tools and lessons that make viewing more interesting. One way that teachers know something is working is by seeing the students' faces and seeing if they are interested and engaged. However, with one monitor/screen, that is impossible to do when there is a virtual shared lesson on the screen.
Having a second screen will help me make sure that the lesson is working and the kids are engaged, whether it be singing, talking, or just listening.
Especially with four-year olds who are more than ready to run around their house instead!
