My Students

Our school is located in a rural community. We have an enrollment of about four hundred students and we are a Title I school. The school is a family school; we live, work, play, and worship very closely with one another.

Our kindergarten children are some of the most energetic, curious, and caring children we've had the pleasure to guide in some time.

The teachers and assistants have been busily working with them and getting to know their individual personalities. Our boys and girls have varied interests. They're all different but what they all have in common, is a love for the school and learning new things, as well as a drive to grow in our learning community. They need to thrive in an atmosphere that will enrich their background knowledge and immerse them in authentic learning experiences! That's why we've pledged to dig deeper in our learning this year!

My Project

While teaching remotely or on our hybrid schedule prior to returning to school on a fully face-to-face basis, I will need to be prepared to deliver quality instruction virtually for my kindergarten students. With adequate technology resources, I will be able to engage my students with high interest instruction in a manner almost parallel to actually being in person in our classroom with materials that will make virtual presentation easier. My students will be able to see their classmates as well as inside of our classroom. They will be able to view every aspect of the lessons being presented as I'm able to move about a staged learning area for remote learning by using the standing desk and rotating laptop stand to show content on the smart board or model curriculum content on the chart stand and by using the document camera. I will utilize the flash drive to download videos and slide decks to use for instruction and learning engagements. Using these things, along with providing at home learning kits, my children will be able to actively participate in our uncharted virtual learning reality for our public school.
