Zine-athon 2022: Create Mini-Magazines on the Topic of Freedom
Help me give my students brilliant colors of the special markers and the fine lines of the Micron fineliners to make their work pop like the work of professional artist/illustrators.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Fidoten's classroom raised $663
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are highly creative and passionate about their art. Because of our school's focus on contemporary art, they are committed to exploring all types of art. My high school students are in grades 9-12, and many see me for four years.
My students are eager to develop their art to become college and career ready.
To that end, we partner with arts organizations such as the Exploring the Arts Foundation, the Morgan Library Museum and the New York Art Deco Society, and others to obtain real-world feedback and experiences.
My students are eager to develop as artists and students and participate fully in opportunities to do so.
My students are creating Zines (DYI mini-magazines) to express how freedom impacts them in their lives in illustrated memoirs they write and create.
The materials that you are funding will make their work pop, due to the brilliant colors of the special markers and the fine lines of the Micron fineliners.
Our students are especially inspired by the brilliant colors and exquisite line work found in manga, animation, and video game art. These supplies will be highly motivating, encouraging them to take their art and writing to the next level.
