One of the many ways to help stabilize tense situations is to change the setting. A calm space, also known as a de-escalation room, is a safe place where students can calm down and remove themselves from a stressful situation. These rooms provide a low level of stimulation, enabling students to relax. Encouraging relaxation benefits their well-being, teaches them valuable skills for managing stress, and promotes maintaining a healthy lifestyle as they grow up.
I am looking to provide a "grown up" atmosphere for my students grades sixth through twelve to come to when they need a break, have a bad day, or need to talk.
I would like to provide various seating arrangments for the students so whether they prefer to sit or lay, or need a more active seating where they can rock, it is provided. The plants will give the space a nature inspired theme, as well as the muted color tones that were chosen to give the sense of relaxation.
Please help me give my students a styliest, yet functional space, to help releave stress and learn calming strategies.
