it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Senior year is one of the most exciting but stressful times in a student’s life. My seniors are balancing classes, jobs, family responsibilities, and the overwhelming process of applying to college and financial aid. Many are first-generation college students, dealing with a system that often feels confusing and intimidating. I want to create a space where they can focus, breathe, and work through this process without added stress.
A clean, inviting, and functional environment can make all the difference.
Robot vacuums will keep our workspace tidy without extra effort, making the room feel more organized and welcoming. A small table will give students a dedicated area to work on applications, meet with me for guidance, and feel like they have a space just for them. An Amazon Echo will add to the atmosphere by playing calming background music and answering quick questions, like deadlines or reminders, so students don’t feel like they have to juggle everything alone.
The goal is to create a space that helps students focus without feeling overwhelmed. When they sit down to write essays or submit FAFSA forms, I want them to feel a sense of calm and control. A clean, comfortable, and peaceful environment will help them take these next steps with confidence.
