My Project
Our teaching team has approximately 160 amazing students. Out of these 160, more than half are deficient in math. In efforts to get them closer to grade level in math, our students that are below grade level will be invited to stay after school and work on a computer program, Zearn, to improve their math skills. This computer program works with each child on grade level work and uses AI to back up and fill in missed concepts, allowing everyone accessibility to math. Our teaching team will also be available to offer support when students are struggling with content and provide small group intervention.
After school, we find the kids are hungry and in need of a snack to keep them focused.
It can be rather expensive to supply snacks once or twice a week for approximately 20 weeks. So, we are asking for crackers and granola bars so these students can stay focused during this after school club. Candy is also used as an incentive for students that meet their weekly Zearn goal of three or more lessons.
