My Project

I teach a self-contained special education class at SES. We currently have 9 students with a variety of disabilities. We are moving into a newly constructed school and our classroom contains a mini kitchen that I would love to utilize to teach my students functional life skills. We will be using a cooking curriculum geared toward making easy and tasty snacks and meals that the students can then fix at home allowing them some independence.

This project includes supplies to stock our kitchen with the essentials needed to make our cooking activities possible.

In creating snacks and meals that the students will eat, we will incorporate reading, writing and math skills so that they become global skills that can be generalized to a variety of settings.

Your support will be beneficial in helping very special students learn life-long skills.
