My Students

I teach 23 energetic 4th graders in a Title I school in Arizona. I currently have 18 boys and 5 girls which means lots of movement, energy, and hands on activities to keep them engaged.

My students have a true love for learning.

Our school has a philosophy of blended learning which means daily small group instruction. My students love working in small groups and being able to move around the room and utilize some of our flexible seating areas.

My Project

As my class has grown in size and my students have grown in stature, the tiny table we have used for small group instruction is now much too small. What once worked is now a headache. We no longer all fit at the table and some students are forced to stand with clipboards. My students love small group instruction or "teacher time" as they call it. It is their favorite time of the day. This dry erase table will fit all of my small groups comfortably while allowing for students to work out their thinking easily right on the table.
