Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am working at one of the largest elementary schools in New York City. Many of my students get a lot of their basic needs met at school. For example, the whole school qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. Luckily, students are still able to get grab-and-go food at our school, but they are lacking other supplies we usually provide for them.
My Project
Thank you so much to everyone who helped me purchase the items for the summer care packages. With your help I was able to buy books, art supplies, and personal protective equipment for each student in my class. I wanted to get these materials shipped to my house so I could arrange a personal package for each student and attach a hand written card.
Now I am faced with the challenge of shipping 30 packages to my students in the Bronx.
With your generosity I will be able to deliver these packages in the mail to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
