My Students
My school serves the students of the inner city of Manchester, NH. Our students and their families come from all over the globe. More than 90% of our population receives free and reduced lunch and many of them are part of a program that sends food home with them over the weekend.
Many of our students have been directly affected by the opioid crisis and have experienced homelessness, poverty, living without a parent or being in foster care.
I have 27 fabulous students in my classroom. Each of them has their own unique story and individual needs. As a collective body, they show what resiliency and hope look like in this generation of learners.
My Project
A communication center is essential to any classroom. The MAIL CENTER WALL MOUNT 30 SLOT will be a focal point in our classroom. It will be used to hand out important information to families about our school and our community. Many families receive assistance through community services, and this is the best way to ensure that the information is sent home to everyone.
Feedback for students is most effective when it is given quickly.
Correcting and commenting on students' work is an essential part of the learning process. I can't always meet with each student to discuss their work, so being able to facilitate passing back their work in a timely manner would be the most beneficial to everyone.
Our current system is hanging organizer that is not effective. The papers fall out of their slot and it falls off the wall easily. I am looking for a more permanent solution that will be used again and again.
