Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director in a low-income neighborhood, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many issues they face, I am looking to provide my students with ample amount of equipment for their after school practices. I want all my students to be physically active for a lifetime.

My students love being active, so I want them to experience different sports such as softball, basketball, baseball, tennis, and soccer.

We need enough equipment so our athletes can practice. When we don't have enough equipment, most of the practice time is wasted. Too much standing around and enough movement.

Some of my students have had an opportunity to play in a team sport. I would love for my students to have an opportunity to play in the high school team once in their lifetime. I know that they would enjoy it very much, especially if they have never played in a high school team. They will have so much fun learning new skills.

My Project

My students need an ample amount of equipment so they can be fully engaged during practices. We have a huge number of students and not enough equipment. My students will use this equipment to practice and refine their skills. I want my athletes to practice on their craft. Shooting, dribbling, kicking, catching, etc.

My students enjoy playing in team sports and I want all my athletes to experience positive and rewarding experiences while being on the High School team.

However, in order to have full participation, we need equipment. My student-athletes and I hope we can get donors to help us succeed this year. Especially after a year and a half of staying home.(COVID lock downs)

Your generous donation to our project will make a difference because, like I said, we have too many students for our small amount of equipment. If students are constantly active, they will have fewer behavioral issues, and they will enjoy the different skills which they will learn. Also, they will have a higher chance of success when they play against opposing teams.
