This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like going to school and not having an opportunity to use the computer? My students experience this everyday. I want all my students to learn to manipulate a computer.
I currently have 33 First Grade students.
Our students live in a high-need community, 99% of our students come from low income families. Many of our students are also English Language Learners. My student do not have computers at home and we currently have 2 "Ice Age" computers in the classroom. I would like to change that and prepare them with modern computers. I want to build their technology skills that are important in today's society.
My Project
As mentioned earlier most of my students do not have access to computers. I would like to teach them how to use a computer, and how they can learn from it. For most of my students this would be their first experience with a computer. My students would be able to access learning websites that would enrich their learning and help them acquire skills such as identifying initial sound in words, identifying letter names, letter sounds, addition and subtraction. There are endless learning possibilities with technology. In order to accomplish this goal, I a requesting for one computer that will be used by all my students.
This project is so important for my students future.
I want to set them up for success in all areas especially in the technology field. Our world moves by technology why not help my students move a step closer toward that. You can help prepare my students become young technology wizards.
