Do you remember the first time you used a microscope? The students in my science classroom are ready for age-appropriate microscopes. I recently got a small set of microscopes from donors like you, but since I have a large classroom I need a few more.
I teach science in a school in Brooklyn with a 57% poverty rate.
I work with 250 second grade to fifth grade students. My students are always full of questions. They enjoy doing experiments in class, observing, manipulating materials, measuring, and making predictions. They love to learn how scientists gather and share information.
My Project
My students will use the microscopes to observe, experiment, and pose questions. It is never too early to expose them to new tools that can help them explore. New microscopes will help them see into the world of microbiology and help visualize the microscopic world.
Microscopes will provide more excitement and motivation, and they will inspire the students to observe from a scientific perspective.
By donating these materials to my classroom, you are helping me foster my students' love for inquiry and science.
