My Project
Science is my passion ever since I was a young girl. This year I was honored when I was asked to be the science teacher for Pre-k to Grade 2 in a dedicated space. I have had to be super creative in this start-up program when it comes to providing hands-on experiences.
To deepen their understanding of scientific concepts, students need hands-on materials to learn about cooperation, collaboration, and the scientific method.
I believe that all students should have the tools necessary to explore, question, and learn especially in science.
As a science teacher of the youngest learners, I am working hard to develop a true science program. With the materials requested all the students will be able to explore and question the topics being taught specifically the kindergarteners who are learning about force and motion through engineering. It would be amazing to have them work in groups to build with the Magna Tiles, and explore force and motion with different ramps. My first graders need new flashlights to explore light and shadows, and the library allows young learners to deepen their understanding through research.
