My Students

The group of students that I service are awesome children. They are risk takers and adventure seekers. I love that they are open and willing to try new ventures in life. Last year they were introduced to gardening and even took a tour of a famous cemetery. They await and yearn for rich learning experiences being that other than school some will not have the opportunity for such activities. They are the apples of my eye and I love being the one to expose them to their new experiences.

My Project

My scholars are learning how to run a small business. The items that have been requested are items that they will need for their start up. They will learn valuable economic skills as well as enhance their reading and writing skills through the process of running their business. They will also learn a life long skill that is needed by all, how to handle money properly.

This may be the only chance that some of them will have to participated in this type of learning opportunity.
