This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are all four or, just recently, five years old. We have had daily experiences with books and foundations of literacy (letters and sounds). Now they are starting to express interest in looking at and reading books on their own.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear will offer my students immediate success with independent reading!

The familiar book on the shelves will entice them to pick it up and show off their knowledge of colors and reading practices. Individual books will also allow them to each read to their 3rd-grade buddy.

These young learners will be excited to see brand-new copies of this favorite story on the shelves. Imagine the confidence they will gain when they discover they can now read these Brown Bear, Brown Bear books all by themselves!
