Young Hoosier Award Books Needed

My students need books from the Young Hoosier Award Nomination List for 2011-2012.

My Students

Open a great book and you can open a whole new world to students. The Young Hoosier Books are highly regarded books that can inspire our students to read.

Our students attend a middle school in a high poverty area in Indiana.

They don't have all of the resources that most students have but they are bright, creative kids who just need a chance to achieve their potential. Providing them with a media center full of good books is the key to their success.

My Project

Middle school students have so many challenges facing them today. If we can catch their attention with good books they can be encouraged to read and improve their literacy skills. The key is providing them with good books that they actually want to read. For this reason, I am requesting books from the Young Hoosier Award Nomination List for 2011-2012.

You can make a difference in the lives of our students by donating to this project.

The Young Hoosier Books are promoted by the Association for Indiana Media Educators and we highlight these books each year. Your donations will help provide these books in our Media Center.
