This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day students come to my classroom eager and ready to learn. My students enjoy learning and reading about real things.
My students are all English Learners whose native language is Spanish and are now in a bilingual framework in which they need to write, speak, and read English all the time.
In order for me to ensure my students' success I have decided to have a purpose for their hard work. They are going to do research on the animal they like and write information about the animal. The information they gather will help them put together a writing piece for their classroom book. My students will be participating in a writing program through a company called Studentreasures Publishing in which students put their writing pieces together and end up with a classroom book.
My Project
The students will use the books by reading about the animal facts. This is a way in which they can do the research. They will gather the animal information in the book and rewrite it in their own words to be able to create their own piece of writing for the classroom book.
This books will help them academically in different subject areas such as reading, language art, writing, and science.
This will help them with their reading skills and give them a sense of pride and confidence.
