I teach a diverse kindergarten class, with over half of my students being ELL (English Language Learners).
Since my students don't all have the resources to do fun art projects at home, I want to nurture their creativity at school. My class only gets to visit our school's art teacher for 50 minutes a week, but if we had art supplies in our kindergarten classroom, we'd be able to do art projects any time!
If we had an art easel in our classroom, I would be able to have an art center to engage my students in exciting art projects. The art center would be available throughout the week for my students to paint whatever their creative minds come up with. I could also tie art projects in with our weekly themes or even let the students use the paint and paintbrushes to practice writing letters, numbers, and shapes in a fun way. Painting will even help my students with kindergarten goals like learning color names and developing their motor skills.
The stow-and-go easel is perfect for my little classroom since it can be easily folded and stored out of the way when we're not using it. The easel is also very versatile since it can be used not only during art time, but also during literacy instruction to hold the books, charts, and poems we read in class. The trays on the easel will be a convenient place to store our art supplies, and the no-spill paint cups and washable paint are a must for any kindergarten classroom.
With the easel and painting materials I'll be able to spur creativity and jumpstart what I hope will be a lifelong appreciation for art. Your donation will make it possible for my little artists to shine!
