My 5th-grade class this year is made up of 20 fun-loving and energetic learners. They began this year successfully as e-learners and are ready to return to the classroom. My students thrive when given the opportunity to share their work and thoughts with each other. They love discussing their ideas and showing what they have learned. This group of students has shown that they can rise to any challenge that is presented to them. I can't wait to see what they can do once we are together in our classroom!
My Project
Help me take my students from their math workbooks into a fun, strategic, and exciting board game! The game of Battleship will allow my students to practice applying coordinate graphing in a fun and interactive way! Students will use strategy and math reasoning to show their understanding and mastery of coordinate graphing.
This project promotes both Math and Social-Emotional skills!
Students will need to demonstrate their math skills while focussing on playing the game with empathy and kindness. Winning and losing graciously isn't always easy!
Learning to win or lose, while practicing our math and having some fun, equals a win-win in our classroom!
