I would love to get the parents of my students as excited about reading as I am. I am positive that Family Literacy Events would provide great opportunities for parents to build stronger relationships with their children while promoting a love for reading for the students. Family Literacy Events are special scheduled times when parents and caregivers are invited to visit and participate in literary activities at their child's school. The events will include student presentations, exhibits of student work, and refreshments. At our Family Literacy Events, students can practice language and literacy skills when they talk about or demonstrate what they are learning. Parents and caregivers have the opportunity to increase their own skills as they support their children's learning. Participating in these festive, hands-on events can help families feel more comfortable with doing literacy activities at home, a practice shown to improve children's language arts and reading skills. These events will also help us communicate with parents about their child's reading fluency and comprehension progress. The requested material’s text is written in three colors and three columns. One person/group reads the blue words to the left, one reads the magenta words to the right, and they both read the blue words in the center. I can already picture the excitement on students and parents’ faces as they read to and with each other! Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. These items will make an enormous difference in our students' learning and parental support.
