Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love my kindergarten babies! My little kindergartners come to school every day eager to learn. Although they are little people, they deal with stressful life situations just like we do. The difference is, they don’t always know how to express the emotions that they are feeling the correct way.
I want to create a calm down area inside of our classroom where the students can go when they are feeling overwhelmed.
I want to give them that safe place they can go to, in order to reset and then rejoin the class.
Having the calm down area will help give the students a designated place to calm down and help prevent negative behaviors and distractions. We need a rug, fidgets, books and a timer.
