"The first duty of an education is to stir up life, but leave it free to develop." - Maria Montessori
Hello.
My class is a multi-age group of children consisting of 3-6 year-olds. These children go to a public Montessori school in Chicago. Most of them receive free or reduced lunch. My students learn best through hands-on materials and exploration.
My Project
In a Montessori classroom, children take ownership of their environment. They also feel special when they are given carefully thought of works and activities. My idea for the light table set is to give my students a great extension to their learning.
It will be used in all areas of the classroom.
I plan to use it in the practical life area for developing fine motor skills, sensorial area for grading and matching, cultural and science for scientific observation, language arts for letter formation and building, and math area for quantification. The possibilities are endless. Thank you in advance.
