Help me give my students headphones to optimize their 1:1 chromebooks. I am asking for 30 headphones, so that each student has a pair and a way to organize the headphones.

My Students

My students are creative, kind, energetic, and hungry for knowledge. We love to learn through engaging lessons that let us express our learning in new and exciting ways. The students come ready to learn and face new challenges, both academic and personal every day!

Our classroom is designed differently than a traditional classroom.

The students have a variety of seating option to fit individual learning needs.

Our school is located in a western suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. We are one of four third grade classroom, in a school that services kindergarten through eighth grade. As a school, we strive to build lasting relationships with all stake holders, including fellow students, parents, business, and community members.

My Project

I am requesting 30 headphones and 2 organizers for the headphones. The students at my school have 1:1 chromebooks. However, we can't use them to their full abilities without headphones. Our chromebooks are used daily in all subject areas. We have amazing websites that the students use for math and reading but it gets very distracting with 30 computers having their volume on at the same time. The chromebooks are also used during our state and district testing. They are also used during the students favorite part of our day, Genius Hour.

Quality headphones will allow use to take our 1:1 computers to the next level.

Students will be able to listen to our reading podcasts to build their listening comprehension. They will be able to work independently without being distracted by the other computers. The headphones will also help my students with IEPs use the text to speech feature, especially during testing. The students also bring their computers to their specials and are often asked to bring headphones as well.

The headphones the students bring to school are often from the dollar store and break or get terribly tangled within a month. These quality headphones will be able to last throughout the year and hopefully for several years. The organizer will help keep them untangled as well.
