My Students

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." ~W.B. Yeats.

My students are eager to return to hands-on and outdoor learning after being virtual for a year.

They've been through a lot during the pandemic and are hoping for a more normal school year. Many students have lost family members to COVID-19, making their normally challenging home lives even more difficult during quarantine and virtual instruction.

Every week, over four hundred students will rotate through my classroom for STEM lessons. We will be learning about our world through hands-on investigations and lessons. By combining Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, students will be learning how to think through problems and come up with solutions.

My Project

Our STEM Lab is a place to investigate, explore, and encourage love and curiosity of the world around us. The students love all we do, but the activities they can take home are their favorites!

We will be making masks to explore camouflaging, creating animal tracks with plaster of paris, and sculpting new organisms they may discover one day as a future biologist.

Everyone in my classes love some part of STEM, but adding art to it encourages even the most reluctant scholars to grab hold and make it their own. By donating to this project, you'll be encouraging over 400 students to let their curiosity take hold and look at STEM as a future career possibility.
