My students need "Bullying in Schools", and a variety of 30 bullying books, to learn how to prevent bullying at school. They also need a storage stool to store our new books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever been bullied? Think of the tremendous stress, fear, and damage it did to your self-esteem. Everyone has the right to feel safe at school. However, bullying is a problem in many schools. It's something that we must address and teach in all schools.
My students live in South Central Los Angeles.
They live in an impoverished inner-city community that is nestled between factories, railroad tracks, and a local soup kitchen. They all qualify for federal free lunches. The school they attend is considered Title I. They live with very little and at such a young age have encountered tremendous hardships. Despite all this they come to school eagerer to learned.
My Project
The book Bullying in Schools will help me teach students what to do in different situations where bullying occurs. It will help promote a safe learning environment and build character education. The literature like Don't be a Bully, Billy and Lucy and the Bully will help illustrate that bullying can happen to anyone and will help me teach my students what to do when being bullied and how to seek help.
Everyone deserves a safe learning environment.
Please help my students by providing them with the right tools and skills needed to stop bullying at school. Together we can create a peaceful learning environment in all schools regardless of zip code.
