My Students

"I get it now!" Those are the words I look forward to hearing each day with my fourth graders! These students want to learn and they want to learn through hands-on experiences. I know that these experiences lead to higher achieving students, but how can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed?

The students in my classroom are sometimes struggling to reach grade level mastery because of lack of materials to cater to their needs.

Our school is like a small community, serving from kindergarten all the way to eighth grade. We have fabulous teachers who work tirelessly each day to make sure students are supported. Our goal is to provide the materials to students that will help them direct their own learning. I have future doctors, lawyers, biologists, teachers, dancers, engineers, and so much more in my classroom! I just want them to have the resources to develop the skills they need!

My Project

Books make a difference in the lives of so many students! This project is about helping students understand the content I am teaching in ways they can easily master.

Nonfiction books are not the first go to book for most students, but it is so important that they read nonfiction books, as well as fiction books in order to gain understanding about the world around them.

Their textbooks do a great job of explaining material, but these books will break it down in a way that students can learn and enjoy. This nonfiction material will assist struggling learners with the science content, and will be an extension to my gifted learners!
