Help me give my students a variety of leveled texts to help expand their love of reading. The books in this project will be used for independent reading and instructional reading activities with the students.
I work in a kindergarten classroom in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. Many of the students come from low income families and seek comfort and belonging within the classroom walls. The students strive to do their best each and everyday while accomplishing the goals set forth for each individual student.
The students are the future of our society and ready to learn on a daily basis.
The students come from supportive families, who also strive to do their best each day in order to become the best version of themselves.
My Project
My students are very eager to read, but the selection of books in the classroom are difficult for them. I want to offer level appropriate texts for my students that are age appropriate, as well as at the level of the students in my classroom. The book sets will be used for guided reading to help independent reading levels improve. The guided reading text sets will help the students expand vocabulary, as well as become fluent readers. The storage cart will help organize the texts and make it accessible for the students to use throughout the day. I am positive that the texts in this project will help all my students move to the next reading level!
