My Project

I teach Pre-k in a title one district. I teach active four year olds who love to learn and explore a variety of learning materials. Covid impacted in-person learning a great deal. Parents were asked to do the job of a certified teacher. Unfortunately, parents who could work or who had multiple children in the household struggled. Learning was limited at best. As a teacher, I noticed many students were coming back into the classroom with a lack of basic math concepts. The variety of math counters and the Early Math Learning Centers would not only spark their imagination but would provide real world object lessons in addition, subtraction, and basic math skills. The materials requested will provide an array of fun math moments as the children learn and explore. I will provide opportunities for the children to explore independently, as well as with guided instruction. During math small group instruction, my students will be given guided practice as well as one on one time. As they explore the farm animal counters, ocean animal counters, and the spider counters they will find math interesting yet challenging as they learn and explore.
