Yoga mats for PreK students

Help me give my students I want to give each of my kids a yoga mat, so we can do yoga daily. We will also talk about mindfulness and positive self-talk! (no class rug due to covid-19)

My Students

I work at a public arts school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My class is part of a program called high-5. Being a preK class in a public arts-based elementary school, I focus on project-based art and having students share their emotions through many creative outlets. We are going back to school in person starting February 8th, 2021. My school has over 90% who receive free and reduced lunch.

My Project

Students will participate in daily yoga. We will focus on movement but also work on mindfulness, positive self-talk, and reflection on our emotions. This will help build emotional regulation, and allow 4 and 5 year-olds another safe way to move while staying in the same small classroom all day!

My students are expected to follow the same rules around covid as the older students and we will not have gym for at least the first month of school and I was told we may not have gym class at all this year.
