My Students

Our students are AWESOME! They are unique, creative, and talented. They come from all walks of life. We have a wonderful school and are surrounded by supportive parents and family members.

Our school has started a new elective program this year.

Each student gets to choose two elective classes to participate in. We have a wonderful selection of electives for children to choose from. Electives give students a chance to become more engaged in the curriculum. They can explore a subject they are more interested in, further develop their talents, and be creative!

My Project

Our school has implemented an elective program at our school. I will be teaching Yoga to second and third grade students as an elective choice.

Students that participate in exercises like Yoga have better concentration and focus skills.

This class will provide them an opportunity to work on those skills outside of the regular classroom. They will perform better because of the ability to take a mental break during the school day.

Yoga is an area that children cannot "fail" in. Therefore, their self-esteem will be better. Yoga will help to give students a sense of accomplishment when they are able to master poses.

To be able to teach this class effectively I need the best equipment possible for the children. I am requesting donations to purchase yoga mats and two instructional DVDs.
