My Project

As an educator in an urban district, I notice the effects of trauma on our students and the lack of avenues to release compounded stress. The word "yoga" is often associated with "stretching and flexibility." However, it is much more than that, yoga encompasses health, body, and mind. My goal for this project is to create yoga groups aimed to increase focus/attention, reduce feelings of anxiety, promote better sleep/physical health, and overall increase in emotional well-being. As bilingual learners, our students' minds are more readily prepared to embody these practices.
