My Project

I am an occupational therapist working with special needs students to help build their confidence, independence, and self-regulation. These skills are essential for students to achieve their full potential. Over the years, I have seen how important self-regulation and emotional wellbeing is for students to meet their goals. To address this need, I created a successful 6-week yoga and mindfulness program. I love seeing how relaxed and calm students become after participating in the yoga and mindfulness group. To further develop my abilities to support students, I aim to attend the 200-hour Breathe for Change training program. This nationally recognized course will qualify me as a Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator and 200-hour registered yoga teacher. With these advanced skills, I will be equipped to provide critical social-emotional and self-regulation support to both special needs and general education students in an engaging way. I humbly ask for your support in this professional development endeavor that will amplify my ability to serve our community's students. Your contribution will go a long way in helping provide students with the social-emotional tools they need to thrive.
