My Students
I teach at a charter school that was created for students with Autism, ADHD, and other special needs. My special students are making huge academic progress as they receive one-on-one leveled reading, math, social skills, and functional skills instruction. Many students make over a year's worth of progress over the course of the school year. Due to COVID-19, I have 35 students in first through sixth grades in both online and in-person classes.
My students require various accommodations in the classroom and their instruction in order to meet their diverse academic, behavioral, social, and sensory needs in the classroom.
My students enjoy learning and work hard each day despite their differing abilities.
My Project
I teach students that have a variety of disabilities, such as Autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. These students arrive at school with a variety of sensory and social emotional needs. I work to reach each students social and emotional needs before we can focus on academics.
My students would love to have the supplies necessary to practice yoga, mindfulness, and breathing activities to help them remain calm.
