This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work for one of the largest school districts in the country, Los Angeles Unified. The school I work at is a Title 1 school, which means that most students are at or below the poverty line. I have been using my computer over time since we have been providing distance learning. My school does not have the funds to get me a new computer and this one is on its last leg. It constantly freezes and certain apps stop working when I update it. I have been to stop updating it because it can't handle them.

My Project

My students would be more engaged as I use a computer that is capable of handling programs I need to teach them properly. The updated computer would allow me to create interactive lessons that I can use while I video call with them.

It will also allow me to be more productive for them and not have to stop, restart, and start the computer several times while planning.

Having a new computer will also relieve my stress and anxiety of thinking that at any moment this computer won't turn back on and I won't be able to communicate with my kids.
